Akureyri

Akureyri is called 'the Capital of the North' in Iceland as it is the largest town in northern part of the country and in fact the largest one outside the Reykjavík area. It has a population of 16.736 and is the center of commerce for North-Iceland. Also situated there is an university and a hospital.
